Is Mary Kay Mineral Foundation equal to Jane Iredale and BE?

I have mild acne in areas and can't seem to get the correct combo of skin care for anti ageing and acne treatment/prevention. My eye area seems dry I use moisturizer, and shortly after applying liner/shadow/mascara some of it ends up in the lines under my eyes. I'm getting really paranoid with my eyes and them looking 'aged' I'm 36yrs and in the 80's and early 90's wore the liquid eyeliner that was Tough to remove and I wasn't very gentle in removing it either. I would rub them hard to get the make-up off and I think now I am beginning to pay for it! Does the Mineral Foundation just add to the aged and tired look???What works????PLEASE HELP!!!Is Mary Kay Mineral Foundation equal to Jane Iredale and BE?
The Mineral Foundation will not provide you the results of what you want. There isn't a mineral foundation out there that will improve your ';aged'; eyes or make them look better. Any mineral foundation will make bad areas more noticeable.





Whatever brand of product you're using, be sure to get on a regime that will repair your face of fine lines and wrinkles. There are products out there that will remove the eye make up gently and that is oil free. Be sure to use a cleanser, moisturizer, and spf, plus any extra anti-aging products that will help repair your skin.Is Mary Kay Mineral Foundation equal to Jane Iredale and BE?
Go with the BE. I have tried Mary Kay mineral foundation and did not like it at all. It has no coverage and should be callled a powder considering the first 2 ingredients are talc and corn starch. Mary Kay's eyeshadows and lip gloss are about the only things I can tolerate from them.
Mary Kay is the worst makeup EVER!!! If you use it, go ahead and divorce your Mary kay lady, quick. Start using bare minerals products. Store your face moisturizer in the shower so it's nice a creamy when you put it on. Store your under eye cream in the fridge. If you get away from Mary Kay I swear you will notice a positive difference with your skin. My mom used M.K for years and I got her to use Bare Minerals, and she loves it!!
My mom and I both love LA Minerals...I use the NoHoGlo, cuz it's lighter and a lil more sheer, but sometimes I use the HOllywood one too if I have a bump.


My mom loves the Hollywood one and it doesn't emphasize her wrinkles or lines at all. Bare minerals did....it looked cakey and made us both itch cuz of the bismuth oxychloride in it.


If you follow the application process....I think you will love the Hollywood foundation. The last step is to press a damp wash cloth over your face. It makes the makeup meld and become one with your skin.


They have samples for like $1 and ship em free. I'm always goin back ordering eyshadow when they come out with new ones!


Make sure your skin care regime is not full of mineral oil, will make you break out. My mom and I use skin care from Eden's kiss and Gingers Garden...both good natural skin care.
Jane Iredale is one of the best spa quality mineral makeups available.

Have you ever tried Jane Iredale mineral makeup?

I am using samples I got from L.A. Minerals but I'm having a hard time getting the shade to match perfectly, after going through 4 different shades. I discovered another all-natural, talc-free mineral makeup line called Jane Iredale and heard good things about them. I love that they have SPF in their powders!! Unfortunately I don't think they sell samples....so I'm really hesitant to buy a full size jar and be disappointed because the color doesn't match. Has anyone ever used this makeup and did you like it? i have oily acne-prone skin and I want a matte-finish that lasts all day!





And NO I will not use Bare Minerals...they have bismuth oxychloride in their products!

Problem with coverage: Jane Iredale make up, help please?

I have been hearing about mineral foundations for ages and decided (after recently qualifying as make up artist) that I would buy some. I sourced the Jane Iredale make up online, and I bought the pure pressed base powder. I also bought the handi brush to apply it flawlessly, as told.


I used it last night for the first time and I was actually a little bit disappointed with the coverage - I don't have ';bad'; skin, just a few blemishes I want to cover up, which I do with other foundations successfully. I thought I had to use alot of it to get the desired coverage, even thought I am applying it as guided by the leaflet. How can this be? I had such high hopes especially after paying alot of money, am I doing it wrong? I didn't put any moisturiser or primer underneath, Although I think the powder base is most flatterring in artificial light. Any ideas on why I'm not getting the expected and promised results?

moisturizer will deff help put it on after you get out of the shower. i don't know what else would help cover it up unless you get one of your other foundations and just covered toes spots you would just have to be care full that they were the same color.

i tried a sample kit from my salon that sales it- it's good- the problem i have with mineral make-ups is the ashy look it tends to give...i tried the pressed powder minerals- it's really good but I personaly use laura mercier's oil-free primer and oil-free tinted moisturizer- and I LOVE these products- better in my opinion than any make-up! OH and no matter what, use SPF!

Jane Iredale makeup or MAC makeup?

For a while now i've wanted to get the mac studio fix foundation but i haven't gotten it because nobody near me sells it and im not sure what color to get. I have oily skin to and acne and i have tried jane and i liked it a lot. it felt really nice on my skin and not to heavy. but be sure you get a close color to your skin. On the other hand i must say i use the maybeline mineral makeup now and love that! they have conceler in mineral wear to so thats always nice. its really good for my skin to and shine was never a problem. If you want to help your acne out only use mineral makeup. They are pricy (which is why i dont use it) but i would try bare minerals to. that stuff is great! I have the M.A.C studio fix foundation, and well let me tell you it works GREAT! (especially because your skin is oily/acne). It is a little pricey but trust me you won't regret getting it because it is just absoluetly AMAZING. Jane Iredale is very very good indeed, but as time goes on you skin will look slightly different if you use Jane Iredale, as opposed to M.A.C which will usually make you skin even healthier. Im not saying if you use M.A.C your skin will be healthier but it will help you get there!

I use Jane Iredale and Bare Minerals and they both work great especially Jane Iredale since it is a higher quality powder but it is a little bit more expensive but defiantly worth every penny:)

Not all stores can carry it, you have to be an esthetician or have one on hand, Quality product. The brushes are great, you must purchase them with the product because it evenly distributes the products on the skin otherwise if you use other you will lose product and don't worry about the price it lasts much longer then most make ups (that's if you have the right brushes) they are all hand placed and cut.

I have a bronzer and an eye-shadow by them. I like them both a lot and I always get compliments on my complexion when I use the bronzer. I also had my make-up done for some event at a salon where they used Jane Iredale and I loved the way it looked. The best concealer in the world is Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer. It hides scars, birth marks, brown spots, hickies, burn marks (really bad ones from curling irons), bruises, dark circles, and pimples. I love this stuff. I had severe acne scars and it was the only thing that covered them completely. But the best part is that it stays on all day. It goes on under your makeup. You have to pat it and blend gently with your finger to cover, don't rub it or you will run it off before it sets. This stuff is waterproof and comes of only when you take your makeup off. Yes you can always go to the website. But I know of at least one dermatologistis office in my town that sells her stuff. They skin treatments, laser hair removal, botex etc. If you find a place like that you may find that they sell her makeup, and that way you dont have to pay shipping and all that.

They used to sell this at a local medspa in my area. The dermatologist who owns the place decided to discontinue selling it. Some of the girls who work there told me it was about the same as all the other mineral makeups, but it was pricier because the company tries to place the makeup for sale in more upscale locations like spas, dermatologist's offices, etc. (of course you can find it in other places). I tried some lip products because they were half off and they were ok, definitely nothing to write home about.

This may be a little off your topic, but I have discovered something better than bare minerals (at least for me). Everydayminerals.com is the best place for makeup I have ever encountered. I break out really easily, and the stuff in bare minerals can be bad for some people. The Everday Minerals are wonderful and they come in a huge variety. I am not trying to sounds like a commercial here, I just really like the stuff. I recommend you at least look it up and get a free sample kit.Anyone used jane iredale and bare minerals and if so which was best?
I've used Bare Minerals and I love it! My face broke out a little for the first week or so, but I always break out when I use new makeup. It did, however look really natural and it healed some of the redness in my cheeks.





The only thing is Bare Minerals is really, REALLY expensive. Someone got me the ';beyond the basics'; kit for Christmas and it was like $70! And it comes with a teeny tiny amount of makeup. In the infomercials, they're always like, ';Just a dot of powder in the lid will be more than enough.'; Well, it's not. I had to use a lot to get the coverage I needed.

I like it very much. The pure pressed base (foundation) is excellent with the right brush. It's expensive though - but very effective. I continue to pay for it so I'm finding it worth the money.





I've also tried Physician's formula which is much cheaper - but the coverage is not as good.

I don't think you're going to get the real stuff much cheaper than that. Except on Ebay - possibly. If you're still not willing to pay that price, I suggest you find a comprimise, there are other good ones out there too for a cheaper price.. Try your local drugs store... (Sorry, I can't suggest any, I live in England - may be Walmart?!)

im thinking perhaps the color is too dark for you.. if u've noticed, most mineral makeup have a ';warm';, ';neutral'; or ';cool'; selection. if you are a warm, but wearing neutral or cool, it can come up ashy! that's happened to me w/ everyday minerals * sheer cover. i suggest either a different color, or maybe even alimacosmetics.com or joppaminerals.com. i found a GREAT color match w/ joppa, and get compliments that my skin looks a lot better (i have acne/oily skin!)

You probably need to use a different makeup line. If its ashy the color is not right for you. Try Christi Mar mineral makeup. This line of makeup is amazing! I think it depends if you're someone who likes mineral makeup. If you don't really care, then I think you might be better off just buying the other stuff as it's cheaper and will give you a similar look, just with added synthetics, etc.





I buy my j.i. makeup through online sites like skincarerx.com or spalook.com since I can always find a 20%off coupon online somewhere.





You could always buy a sample kit from the j.i. site directly if you still want to give it a shot. I think I paid like $26 for mine that had a little sample of blush, eyeshadow, foundation powder, pressed powder, and lipgloss and lipsticks.
